The man who rescued hundreds: Oscar Schindler

In Jerusalem, an extraordinary person was buried in the Catholic cemetery on Mount Zion. As a former Nazi Party member, Oscar Schindler, who died on October 9, 1974, is the only one who would find his final resting place in one of the graveyards of the holy city.

In 1963, the Yad Vashem, the Jewish World Center for Holocaust Research, honored him as “Righteous Among the Nations in recognition of his efforts to save Jews during the Holocaust.
