From Hollywood to the invention of wireless technologies: the story of Hedy Lamarr

“Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid.” This quote is said to have come from an extremely beautiful and no less clever lady. She was Hedy Lamarr, one of the world’s most beautiful women, who hid her aptitude and extraordinary talent in the field of technical sciences behind her beauty. And quite successfully. Because while she didn’t find it difficult to act as the unavoidable beauty prop of Hollywood movies, she also fundamentally contributed to the development of war technology with her peculiar inventions.

The birthday of the lady with roots in Budapest was not forgotten: it officially became the European Inventors Day (9, November). She deserved it.
