Some interesting facts about…

Pyramids of Egypt

More than 130 pyramids are registered in Egypt. The first one, the so-called step pyramid, Pharaoh Djoser’s burial place, was erected in the 27th century BC. The last pharaoh who had built a pyramid was Ahmose I, who lived in the 16th century BC.

Until the year of 1311, when the building of the 520-foot high (160 meters) Lincoln Cathedral concluded, the 481-foot-high (146.5 meters) Pyramid of Cheops had been the tallest building in the world.

The construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza required an average of 14,500 men, but at the height of the works it needed even up to 40 thousand.
