Facts about the history of aviation

The Chinese were supposedly the first in history who rose up in the air in baskets attached to their large kites, around the 4th century BC, so as to carry out air reconnaissance.

In the presence of Louis XVI of France, the Montgolfier brothers launched their hot air balloon in which a duck, a sheep and a rooster rose into the air, on September 19, 1783.

The first  parachute jump was carried out by Frenchman André-Jacques Garnerin at the Monceau Park, Paris, on October 22, 1797.
