The air leviathan takes off

The giant aircraft of Hollywood‬ film producer and devoted aircraft designer Howard‬ Hughes rose into the air on November 2, 1947, at Long Beach Harbor in ‪‎California‬. The mighty wooden aircraft, dubbed Spruce Goose, designed and piloted by ‪#‎Hughes‬ was constructed to carry 700 troops to the battles of World War Two. Sadly, the 23-million-dollar construction of the Spruce Goose, which had a wingspan longer than a football pitch, was not finished during World War Two and it never flight again except its maiden flight.
