The world-famous victory of the one-eyed commander

The Victory’s wheel, and the desk with the navigation instruments, were torn to pieces by the French marksman. Armed with 104 cannons, the British flagship aimed straight at the belly of the French ships, and the French soldiers fired at the deck of the Victory in return. Horatio Nelson stood where a fleet’s commander stands during battle: on the rear deck.
